The DeKalb County KEYS Initiative offers educational seminars on how youth asset building affects our entire community and training on how to incorporate asset awareness and development into your business.
RESOURCE LIBRARY
KEYS has a large collection of books, CD’s, evaluation tools, and other learning materials related to the promotion of the 40 Developmental Assets. We have resources for all community sectors. These items are available for check out.
COMMUNITY ASSETS WEBSITE (COMMUNITY ASSET MAP)
We are in the process of creating a database that lists community resources. The goal of the asset mapping initiative is to provide state-of-the-art, one-stop access to information about the services, supports and other resources available in DeKalb County to meet the needs of children, youth and adults. Once fully functional, the asset mapping application will allow members of the community to obtain detailed information about services which perfectly fit their needs simply by going to the website. This database will allow us to evaluate which assets are readily available in this community and which assets need to be intentionally targeted.
RECOGNITION OF ASSET BUILDERS
Each month we highlight an asset champion from our community – recognizing them for what they are doing to make a difference in the lives of young people. In May, we hold our “Asset Builders Breakfast” – at this event we recognize and present awards to asset builders in our community.
